MBC Kids Update 25 November
Hi families
Sunday Mornings
We are moving back to regular rhythm of kids being back in the main service for the first few songs and notices. We are super excited to able to back together as it helps our kids feel more connected and valued and adds an awesome feeling of whanau back into our gathering.
We have been reflecting on we can make this time together as enriching as possible for everyone so will be continuing to re imagine what this time together could look like - we would love your input so if you have an ideas please let me know.
Advent
Hi team we are bribing the kids - For those not so organised households who love the idea of advent but forget to make the time, we are making it a problem the kids can potentially solve.
We are handing out family advent calendars and for every child who can bring back PHOTOGRAPHIC evidence that they engaged in a least one advent activity that week they will receive a chocolate Santa. Every Sunday the will have a new opportunity. Parents you can post the pic on this MBC parents@home Facebook page or send it to me via email or whats app, we can then show the kids on Sunday morning in the hope that will encourage more of us to get involved.
10 Weeks of Summer
From the 18 of December we are kicking into our 10 weeks of summer. Our children’s ministries will stop in their normal small group formats to give our awesome team of leaders a much needed rest. The 18 will be our combined Christmas service with kids in through whole service. There will be no services on 25 and 1st of January. Will we have activity packs to do in the service for the last 3 weeks of January, then in the first part of Feb we will run some movies. The 18ht and 19th of Feb will be our family camp and then we will kick back into gear the following week with a special ( delayed ) blessing of the back packs service.
Family Camp
Family camp is all on the 18-19 Feb next year so make sure you book into your calendars and book at spot inn the camp asap.
For kids and adults 5 plus its 10 dollars a day to chill in the camp site and on the beach or 40 dollars to jump into the awesome activities on offer.
Please note the age limit for the activities is 7 years old and up. There is still plenty to do for kids under that age with beach and awesome play grounds literary right at our doorstep.
The activity option will be 3 sessions and include a mixture of both water and land based adventures - depending on weather ranging from kayaking, sailing and surfing through to archery, rock climbing and more. Every person will have opportunity to do a least 2 of the water based activities with all gear including wetsuits provided on site for no extra cost.
Accommodation is almost Marae Style open plan with 8 family ‘blocks’ available inside 2 large cabins that can sleep up to 5 people in bunks. We will be putting our teenage lads downstairs in their own cabin to reduce the noise but it will still be a very dynamic space to at least 9pm up stairs and 11 pm downstairs for the teens.
